Urban Infra 2022: Dr. Amita Singh conferred with 'Emerging Urban Infra Women Leader of the year' Award 2022

New Delhi, India, 7th November 2022: Dr. Amita Singh Lead-Health Safety & Environment, CDM Smith conferred as "Emerging Urban Infra Women Leader" of the year. This award given to her for prestigious contribution in implementing major urban infra projects in various cities of different countries with standard health, safety and environmental precautions.

The award was received by her from Shri Rajesh Agrawal, Former Member (Rolling Stock), Railway Board, Ministry of Railways at a grand ceremony - 2nd Urban Infra Business Summit & Awards 2022 hosted by Urban Infra Group on 7th November 2022 at India International Center, New Delhi, India. 

The award ceremony was attended by dignitaries from the nodal ministries, government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and industry leaders from the leading multi-national companies (MNCs) engaged in developing major urban infrastructure in India.

The Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards are given to corporate and individual leaders in recognition and honor for their extraordinary contribution to developing major infrastructure projects in India through their innovative ideas, products, and services. A total of 41 (9 individuals and 32 corporate) were felicitated with the 2nd Urban Infra Business Leadership awards.

Dr. Singh is an experienced International and National Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment professional with more than 20 years of experience. She believes in “Safe and sustainable production” in the development and implementation of HSSEQ Strategies and Management Systems. She is a committed professional with extensive construction and corporate background in the mining, drainage, and highways road (utilities/distribution), metro rail (NATM and TBM tunnels) projects. She is dedicated, with a demonstrated ability to deliver value through committed leadership, strategic planning, and effective resource management with largely geographically dispersed teams with integration and coordination of EMS and HS management system into QMS. She is a strong networker, has a proactive attitude, an effective leader, and works very well independently. An effective communicator with excellent relationship and management skills, strong analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities. She has demonstrated best practices in Environment and safety of construction
projects.

Dr. Amita has worked on International Mega projects including rail metro, Highways Road projects, drainage -storm water, transportation tunnels and deep shafts. Her experience in Health and Safety management is exceptional and expend in various fields of civil engineering construction. She, Developed, organized, and implemented robust and comprehensive system of Environmental Management System and Promote camping Qatar operation-wide sustainability and carbon footprint reduce minimize/recycling commitment initiatives throughout operational sites at a corporate level CDM Smith Qatar. And ongoing implementation campaigns geared at Health Wellbeing of a safe work environment for employees including healthy habits and follow awareness campaigns.

Dr. Amita has worked for many projects as Consultant and Construction as HSE Lead and Manager. She is extremely good in understanding & implementation of HSE philosophy in line with the organization core values. She works to the best of her abilities with a professional approach to further enhance the HSE Culture & Productivity while striving for highest HSE standards. She always believes leadership in "Safe & Sustainable Production". Having pro-active attitude, she leads TEAM & also work very well on her own independently.

For the last seven years she has been working in Qatar on CDM Smith projects starting from prestigious Abu Hamour First TBM Tunnel Project in Qatar, Flood Prevention Schemes, Construction of Al Khufoos Street P029. She has also assisted the GEC (6 packages) during the initiation stages in 2019 & 2020.

The 1st edition of Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards was held virtually in 2020 due to the countrywide pandemic.
