Prof. A. Sanjeeva Rao
Prof. A. Sanjeeva Rao boasts a diverse academic background, having completed programs in Artificial Intelligence for Leaders at the University of Texas, Austin, and Great Lakes. His educational pursuits also include a degree in Public Policy and Management from IIM Bangalore and Syracuse University. He holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI, USA, and is recognized as a Chartered Engineer by IEI (India).
Currently, Prof. Rao serves as a Professor of Information Technology at the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR). Within this capacity, he specializes in conducting programs focusing on cutting-edge technologies like Big Data, Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence, specifically tailored to the railway industry. His prior role as an Additional General Manager at RVNL, an Indian Railways' subsidiary, showcased his leadership in overseeing diverse railway projects, including station developments, electrification ventures, and the implementation of new rail lines.
His professional repertoire encompasses a wide array of skills, prominently highlighted by his adeptness in contract management and project execution. Prof. Rao has demonstrated his capabilities in managing high-value contracts, steering projects from their conceptualization to successful completion, all while adhering to budget constraints and timelines. His teaching background enables him to effectively impart knowledge in areas such as project management, EPC, contract management, PPP, and project finance.
Prof. Rao has been an integral part of pivotal pilot projects within Indian Railways, notably involving Wireless Power Distribution systems and the Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS). His exceptional dedication and proficiency within the railway domain were acknowledged through the esteemed "National Rail Award-2022" presented by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Honorable Minister of Railways, underscoring his invaluable contributions and expertise in the field.
