Dr. Amita Singh
Dr. Amita Singh serves as the Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) at Systra India, bringing over 20 years of international and national occupational health, safety, and environmental expertise to the role. She is a dedicated professional committed to "Safe & Sustainable Production" and has extensive experience in construction and corporate environments, particularly in mining, drainage, highways, road projects (utilities/distribution), and metro rail projects involving NATM and TBM tunnels.
Dr. Singh holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Safety Management with a background in civil engineering, complemented by certifications such as NEBOSH and IOSH in Occupational Health & Safety, a Master’s in Environmental Science Management, a postgraduate diploma in Environmental Protection Law, and an MBA in Project Management. Additionally, she is a Lead Auditor for ISO 14001, 45001, and has various other certifications.
Her areas of expertise include designing, developing, implementing, and reviewing management systems related to health, safety, and environment, strategic planning for HSE, project risk management, safety practices in tunnels, traffic and road safety management, incident investigation, crisis stress and emergency management, and injury management. Dr. Singh is actively involved in green initiatives, aligning projects with international and national guidelines, and she has a strong focus on cognitive behavioral-based safety programs.
As a proactive and effective communicator, Dr. Amita Singh leads teams with a collaborative approach, ensuring integration and coordination of environmental management systems (EMS) and occupational health and safety management systems (OHSAS) into quality management systems (QMS). She plays a key role in HSE matters for ongoing and new projects, including CDMsmith Qatar operations, demonstrating a proactive approach in dealing with COVID-19 matters. Dr. Singh strongly believes in the importance of teamwork and exemplifies fair and firm leadership in achieving and sustaining a safe workplace.
