New Delhi, India, 7th November 2022 : Dr. Brijesh Dixit, Managing Director, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (Maha Metro) has been conferred as ‘Modern Metro Man of Maharashtra’. This award given to him for his prestigious contribution and leadership approach in developing suburban & metro rail systems in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and other proposed cities in Maharashtra..His name was selected by a jury/panel comprising experts from the Rail & Metro sectors for the 2nd Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards 2022.
The award was received by Devendra Dutta Mishra, Executive Director (Rolling Stock), Pune Metro Rail Project, Maha Metro from Shri Rajesh Agrawal, Former Member (Rolling Stock), Railway Board, Ministry of Railways on his behalf in presence of dignitaries from the nodal ministries, government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and industry leaders from the leading multi-national companies (MNCs) engaged in developing major urban infrastructure in India.
Dr. Dixit is an eminent institution builder and urban transport professional. He was associated with Indian Railway for over 30 years including association with Mumbai suburban and urban rail transport for over 15 years, at various levels covering planning, designing, constructing and maintaining large scale rail infrastructures & operation of services and administration of institutions on both Western and Central Railways. Known for Total Transformation of Rail infrastructure and quality of services to both passenger and freight customers and public in general as DRM Nagpur, Central Railway.
The Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards are given to corporates and individual leaders in recognition and honor for their extraordinary contribution to developing major infrastructure projects in India through their innovative ideas, products, and services. A total of 41 (9 individuals and 32 corporates) were felicitated with the 2nd Urban Infra Business Leadership awards.
