New Delhi, India, December 7th, 2023 – The 3rd Urban Infra Business Summit & Awards 2023, organized by Urban Infra Group, was a significant event honoring exemplary leaders and corporates for their exceptional contributions to India's infrastructure sector.
Among the esteemed recipients was Mumbai Metro One Pvt. Ltd., honored as the 'Commuter Centric MRTS of the Year' For a commuter-centric approach in operating Mass Rapid Transit Systems, enhancing the commuting experience.
Mumbai Metro One, a Reliance Infrastructure-led PPP project on the Versova-Andheri Ghatkopar Corridor, is India's first metro awarded on a PPP basis, providing vital east-west rail connectivity. The 12 km elevated metro with 12 stations boasts modern infrastructure and advanced signaling systems. Facilitating interchange with Mumbai Suburban Railway and new metro lines, it reduces the journey time from Versova to Ghatkopar to 21 minutes, bypassing 45 traffic signals. In nine years of operation, it has transported over 860 million commuters, prioritizing safety, reliability, and comfort, aligning with international standards.
The recognition, presented by Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Vadodara, in presence of dignitaries from the nodal ministries, government departments, Public Sector Undertakings and prominient player from the private sectors symbolizes acknowledgment for MMOPL’s outstanding leadership and innovative contributions within the railway sector
The 3rd Urban Infra Business Summit & Awards are a platform dedicated to honoring corporates and individual leaders in recognition of their extraordinary contribution to developing major infrastructure projects in India through innovative ideas, products, and services.
