New Delhi, India (October 17, 2024): Ms. Mitu Mathur, Director at GPM Architects & Planners, was honored with the title of "Most Innovative Urban Infra Architect of the Year" on October 16, 2024, during the 4th Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards. The prestigious ceremony was held at the Hyatt Centric in New Delhi as part of the 4th Urban Infra Business Summit & RailTrans Expo 2024, which took place from October 15 - 16, 2024.
The award was presented by Prof. Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Ministry of Railways, in the presence of esteemed leaders from government departments, central public sector undertakings, and the private sector.
Ms. Mathur is an acclaimed architect and urban designer with a wealth of experience in designing housing, hospitality, public, and institutional projects. She was recognized in Forbes India’s Top 30 Under 45 in 2023. As Director of GPM since 2006, she has driven the firm’s growth, emphasizing a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to architecture and planning, particularly in New Business Development.
Challenging conventional notions of architectural development, Ms. Mathur is committed to delivering innovative design solutions for evolving urban environments. She leads the Design Research Team at GPM, focusing on sustainability initiatives within Indian cities. Her expertise in architecture and urban design informs holistic planning efforts aimed at enhancing urban centers and building community capacity. Notable projects under her leadership include the Netaji Nagar and Sarojini Nagar Redevelopment initiatives in Delhi, along with the development of over 20 railway stations, multiple airports, and integrated check posts across India, all contributing to GPM’s infrastructure development mission.
