Dr. Richa Chowdhary
Dr. Richa Chowdhary, Ph.D., is an esteemed Associate Professor in the Social Work Department at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College (BRAC), University of Delhi. With a robust academic and research background spanning over 23 years, she holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Lucknow, complemented by an M.A. in Social Work from the same institution and a B.A. (Hons.) in Sociology from Banaras Hindu University.
Commencing her career as a Research Officer at the University of Delhi in July 1995, Dr. Chowdhary has contributed significantly to the academic realm. She has examined over 30 Ph.D. theses and provided guidance to research scholars from diverse universities. Her scholarly endeavors extend to presenting over 50 papers at both national and international seminars and conferences.
Dr. Chowdhary's prolific writing includes over 15 publications in national and 7 in international journals. She has authored more than 7 books covering topics in psychology, social work methods, and NGO Management. Furthermore, she has penned over 20 chapters for study/course material at various universities, including those offering distance education.
Demonstrating her commitment to advancing knowledge, Dr. Chowdhary has received notable grants and fellowships, including a 2007-09 M.R.P Grant of 2.90 Lakh from the U.G.C. and a National Seminar Grant of 1 Lakh from the same institution. She has undertaken projects in collaboration with NGOs like SRRF Delhi and holds honorary membership in numerous government and non-government organizations.
Dr. Chowdhary's influence extends to her role on various academic boards and committees. She serves on the board of studies at Teerthanker Mahaveer University, is a member of the Accreditation Committee at Credibility Alliance, and contributes as a board member for research studies at the University of Delhi. Additionally, she holds positions as a member of the Departmental Research Committee at DSSW, University of Delhi, and as an Editorial Board Member for several national and international journals. Dr. Chowdhary is also recognized as a panel member for various selection committees, including ONGC.
