Dr. Vinod Shah is an energetic, self-motivated, and result-oriented media and strategy professional with over 18 years of multi-domain leadership experience across the railways, metro, power, and urban infrastructure sectors. He combines deep academic excellence with hands-on industry execution to deliver high-impact communication, marketing, and business strategies aligned with organizational growth and national infrastructure priorities.
A Commerce graduate, Dr. Shah holds triple postgraduate qualifications—a Master of Business Administration (Marketing & Industrial Relations), a Master’s degree in Journalism & Mass Communication, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Planning—along with a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Mass Communication. This multidisciplinary academic foundation enables him to design cost-effective, outcome-driven marketing and communication strategies, helping organizations achieve short-term and long-term business objectives without excessive dependence on high-cost marketing platforms.
Dr. Shah has been associated with Urban Infra Group since its inception as an unpaid mentor, contributing to its strategic vision, editorial positioning, and industry outreach. Since July 2017, he has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), overseeing business operations, strategic planning, media platforms, conferences, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement. Under his leadership, Urban Infra Group has strengthened its position as one of India’s leading media and knowledge platforms dedicated to railways, metro rail, urban mobility, energy, and smart infrastructure.
Prior to joining Urban Infra Group, Dr. Shah rendered over 14 years of distinguished service with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), where he worked in public relations, corporate communications, and media relations, and also served as Public Information Officer (PIO-RTI). His tenure at DMRC provided him with deep institutional insight into large-scale public infrastructure organizations, governance frameworks, and stakeholder communications.
He also served with NTPC Limited, India’s largest power generation company and a Maharatna PSU, for more than three years as a Training Coordinator and Instructor at NTPC-Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station, Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh). At NTPC, he played a key role in employee development, induction, and orientation programmes, contributing to organizational capacity building and workforce excellence.
With strong expertise in media leadership, strategic marketing, corporate communications, training, and infrastructure-focused business development, Dr. Vinod Shah continues to guide industry stakeholders through credible narratives, knowledge-driven platforms, and strategic engagement, supporting India’s evolving urban and infrastructure development agenda.
